Expository Essay II

I have been working on my 2nd essay for my English 101 class. The 1st one, which was assigned and due the first day of class, I definitely did not do well on. It's because of that essay that I have been working extra hard so that it will be evident in my 2nd essay that I have been applying what I have been learning in class. I find the time to complete my assignments at night when my kids are asleep. I have to say, it is very peaceful at that time and I get the work done, despite how late I stay up. I can also think better without interruption. This class definitely requires focus. As far as my other classes, Math 40 and CSIS 115, they have been a breeze. I don't think I would have been able to survive 2 time consuming courses. English and Math will be over soon, then I will go on to Speech 100 and continue with CSIS 115 for the rest of the semester. Seems like alot of people I know are terrified when it comes to speaking in front of people. I am not exactly terrified, but at this point I definitely lack organization of my ideas. Well, I guess that's why I am going to school, to learn these skills. Any how, sounds like I may have another challenge on my hands this upcoming second half of the semester. We shall see.

4 More Weeks of English 101

Week 4 is over with for English 101. Half way through. During the second 8 weeks I will be taking Speech 100. I had a test in Math 40 last Thursday. I believe I did pretty well on that test. My computer class is still a breeze. Math is too so far. I have been thinking about what would be a good combination of classes to take during the spring semester. Im considering taking a history class, English 102, and Math 110. That sounds like a pretty good combination. I hope to take part in an intersession class as well cause I really want to get these credits out the way so I can get my A.A. degree and then transfer to CMSU for my B.S. degree in dietetics. I have been doing alot of reading in my Engish class. Friedman's book "The World is Flat" is such an eye opener. That book may influence me to change my major, but I am not sure yet. I haven't finished the book yet. I'm in the process of getting an essay together for English 101. I think I am starting to understand the writing process. The more I practice the better I will get. My instructor had our class engage in a 29 step freewrite exercise. I have completed 25 steps so far. I really like this exercise. I think I will incorporate these steps in future writings in and out of the class. I found that the exercises helped with generating ideas that I thought would not make sense as I was writing. I was pretty surprised with some to the ideas that sprang from my head. Well, 4 more weeks to go in Math and English. I can't wait until I finish this semester.

"How do I become a dietician?"

I asked myself this question not too long ago. For those of you who want to know, you can go to Eatright.org, which is the Americian Dietetics Association (ADA) website. Click on the Careers and Students link on the green bar near the top of the page. On the next page that comes up click on Education Flowchart: Where do I start? . This will get you headed in the right direction. The ADA also offers scholarships to undergraduate members who will be entering their Junior or Senior year of college.
